What is LinkedIn Learning?
LinkedIn Learning is an online education platform with a large library of video courses taught by industry professionals. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your professional skills, explore a new career path, or simply learn something new, LinkedIn Learning is a great resource you won’t want to overlook.
Courses are organized around three main areas:
- Business: leadership, marketing, project management, communication, and career development
- Technology: Excel, Python, web development, AI, data science, cybersecurity, IT, and software development
- Creative: graphic design, video editing, photography, UX design, and tools like the Adobe Creative Cloud
Each course is broken into short, digestible video lessons that you can watch at your own pace. When you complete a course, you earn a certificate that you can add directly to your LinkedIn profile, giving recruiters and employers a clear signal of the skills you’ve built.
How do I access LinkedIn Learning?
Getting started is simple. You will receive an email notification from LinkedIn Learning with the subject line containing your name followed by “activate your LinkedIn Learning account.” From there, follow these steps:
- Click the activation link in the email, or go directly to the LinkedIn Learning website.
- Click Sign in in the upper right corner.
- Enter your CUNY Login username (firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu). If you’re affiliated with more than one college, you will be prompted to choose one.
- Enter your CUNY Login credentials on the CUNY Login page.
To access LinkedIn Learning at any time following activation, go to the LinkedIn Learning webpage and sign in
Can I connect LinkedIn Learning to my existing LinkedIn account?
If you have an existing LinkedIn account, you can choose to connect it to your CUNY LinkedIn Learning account so that others can view your learning activity and completed courses on your profile.
- Log in to LinkedIn Learning using your CUNY Login.
- Click the Me icon in the top right corner of the homepage.
- Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Click Connect my account under the “Connect your LinkedIn account” section.
- Enter your personal LinkedIn credentials (email and password).
- Click Accept and continue to finalize the connection
