  • On your Chromebook, at the bottom right, select the time > Settings.
  • On the left, select Network  > Wi-Fi.
  • In the list of networks, choose BC-WiFi and then select Connect. 
  • When prompted, sign in using your BC-WiFi username and password.
  • Select Connect.

    1. Click Join to connect and continue to accept the certificate and connect to BC-WiFi.

  • Click the network icon in the notification area
  • Click Network and Internet settings
  • Click Wi-Fi on the right panel and select Network and Sharing
  • Click Setup New Connection or Network
  • Select Manually Connect to Wireless Network and click Next
  • Type BC-WiFi in Network Name box
  • Select WPA-Enterprise for security type and click Next
  • Click Change Connection Settings and select the Security tab
  • Select Microsoft EAP-TTLS as the Authentication Method and click OK
  • Click the network icon again and select BC-WiFi
  • When prompted, sign in using your BC Wi-Fi username and password.

    • Running Windows 7 or Older?

    If your laptop is running an older version of Windows, you need to install an 802.1X client to use BC-WiFi.

    1. Download the SecureW2 client extract it to any directory.
    2. Open the folder > double-click the BC-WiFi SecureW2 Setup.bat file to run. 
    3. You will be prompted with a SecureW2 window.
      Enter your BC Wi-Fi username and password.

    If the information you have entered is correct, you will be automatically logged into the BC-WiFi.

    Option 1: Using the BC-WiFi Network (Preferred)

    The BC-WiFi network is the preferred option since it uses newer WiFi technology and is faster.

    1. Open your phone’s Wi-Fi settings
    2. Select the BC-WiFi network
    3. Enter the following configuration options:

    EAP method:TTLS

    Phase 2 authentication: PAP

    CA certificate: Trust on First Use
    NOTE: Some devices do not have this option. Instead select “Do not validate”.

    Domain (if requested): bcwifi.brooklyn.cuny.edu

    Identity: your BC WiFi username

    Password: your BC WiFi password

    Google Pixel devices (Tested on Android 16)

    Do not select the existing “BC-WiFi” from the list. Instead, add the network manually and enter the Network Name (SSID) exactly as BC-WiFi.

    Use the following settings:
    EAP method: TTLS
    Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    CA certificate: Trust on First Use (accept the prompt on first connection)
    Identity: your BC WiFi username
    Password: your BC WiFi password

    Lookup your BC-WiFi username and password

    Option 2: Using the BC-WiFi-Legacy Network

    If you are unable to connect to the BC-WiFi network (option 1 above), you can use the older BC-WiFi-Legacy network that is slower, but has broader compatibility with more devices.

    1. Open your phone’s Wi-Fi settings
    2. Select the BC-WiFi-Legacy network
    3. Enter the following configuration options:

    EAP method:PEAP

    Phase 2 authentication: PAP

    CA certificate: Trust on First Use
    NOTE: Some devices do not have this option. Instead select “Do not validate”.

    Domain (if requested): bcwifi.brooklyn.cuny.edu

    Identity: your BC WiFi username

    Password: your BC WiFi password

    Lookup your BC-WiFi username and password
