The Brooklyn College Women’s Center is a great place for students to find support, connect with others, and get the resources they need. Here’s why you should check it out:
- Daily Drop-In: Need a break between classes or just want a place to relax? The center has the Returning Women’s Café, a cozy lounge where you can hang out, along with the Alice Miller Computer Lounge if you need to use a computer. Plus, there’s always free coffee and tea during office hours.
- Crisis Intervention: Life can throw curveballs, and the center offers crisis intervention services if you’re dealing with tough situations, whether it’s related to academics or something else. They’re here to help and support you.
- Clubs & Organizations:
- The Exchange is a club that brings students together for open conversations, support, and community-building. They hold Potlucks every month, so it’s a great way to meet new people over food!
- The Women’s History Month Committee celebrates the achievements of women past and present, with fun events every March to recognize the women who’ve shaped our world.
- Resources & Referrals:
The center also connects you with important on-campus resources like Academic Advisement, Career Development, Scholarships, and Personal Counseling. They provide referrals to off-campus support like the Anti-Violence Project, New York City Domestic Violence Hotline, and more.
No matter what you’re dealing with, the Women’s Center is a safe space where you can find help, build connections, and grow!
