If you are prompted to sign in each time you use your Digital ID, try the following:

  1. Delete & reinstall the app, which will clear out any old data.
  2. Login via My BC Info, checking Save Password on the login screen. Once you have successfully logged in, your new/updated password will be used for auto-login going forward.

If you recently changed your WebCentral password, BC Navigator will prompt you to enter your new password.

If your ID has stopped working, make sure that you have an active network connection, then click Logout, and login again.

New or returning students and faculty/staff members may also find that their ID is not immediately active. Administrative updates made in CUNYfirst are generally reflected in the Digital ID on the next business day, with some exceptions.

BC Digital ID

The Brooklyn College Digital ID is a convenient and secure replacement for your plastic college ID card. It is accessible from the BC Navigator mobile app.

Top 3 reasons to use your Digital ID card:

  1. It is accepted at all open entrances.
  2. It automatically validates each semester.
  3. It includes a bar code that you can use to borrow college library books and to enter recreation facilities.

Getting Started

To start using your Digital ID, install the BC Navigator mobile app, click BC Digital ID, and sign in using your WebCentral ID.

Physical ID: The physical ID includes a Library ID barcode that must be activated prior to use. To check if yours has been activated, or to activate a new card, take your physical ID to the BC Library Circulation desk to have your Library ID barcode activated.

Off-campus access: Use your CUNYfirst account to login and access online resources, including articles, e-books, and journals/databases. No Library ID is required.

]]> Adding Your Photo to Your Brooklyn College Digital ID https://students.brooklyn.edu/knowledge-base/photo-id/ Thu, 20 Jan 2022 20:25:33 +0000 https://students.brooklyn.edu/?post_type=ht_kb&p=1144 Starting September 15, 2025, your photo will be required on your BC Digital ID for campus entry. IDs without a valid photo will no longer be accepted at campus entrances.

How to check if you have a valid photo in the system

  • Open the BC Navigator app
  • Tap BC Digital ID
  • If your photo is missing (or shows the wrong one), submit a new photo following the steps below.

How to add your photo

There are two easy ways to add your photo:

1. Visit the Enrollment Services Center

  • Located on the first floor of the West Quad Center
  • Open Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Extended hours will be available at the start of the Fall semester to accommodate higher demand.
  • Your photo will be taken on-site and added to your Digital ID by the next business day.

2. Submit a photo online

  • Email your photo to ID@brooklyn.cuny.edu with:
    • Your full name
    • Your EMPLID
    • Your affiliation (e.g., undergraduate/graduate student, faculty, staff)
    • A JPEG/JPG photo that meets the following requirements:
      • Taken from the shoulders up
      • White or clear background
      • No hats or sunglasses (religious clothing exceptions allowed)

Need a Physical ID Instead?

If you do not have a smart phone, you can get a physical BC ID card at the Enrollment Student Center.
