How to declare a major or minor in Psychology

IMPORTANT: Psychology declarations do not require approval from the Psychology Department. The website is misleading for psychology. Even though it says you may need department approval, this is not true for psychology, and you can declare without our approval.

Declarations are filed in the BC WebCentral Portal:

  1. Log in to the BC WebCentral Portal
  1. Select the “eServices” tab.
  1. Select “Student Transactions.”
  1. Select “Declare or Change your major, minor, or concentration.”
    • If you are undeclared, then you should click the “Declare” button.
  1. Click on “Start Application.”
  1. Follow on-screen instructions.

Brooklyn College policy requires that you have a major at your 60th earned credit.

Please keep in mind the major declaration deadlines on the academic calendar

Students have until the declaration deadline in their graduation semester to make any changes to their declarations prior to the final degree audit.
