The accelerated masters program enables students to complete both their bachelor’s
degree and their master’s degree in a shorter amount of time and at less cost to the
student. This allows matriculated undergraduate students with 3.0 GPA and above to take approved graduate coursework that simultaneously applies to both the
undergraduate and graduate degree requirements. These shared courses are
applied to both degrees.
How many graduate credits can be transferred into the M.S. in Computer Science program?
When the student begins their MS in Computer Science, up to 12 graduate credits can be transferred in.
Which undergraduate programs are eligible?
At this time the available Brooklyn College undergraduate programs that can be considered for this accelerated pathway into the Computer Science MS program include three of the undergraduate majors and two of the minor programs:
- B.S. in Computer Science
- B.S. in Information Systems
- B.S. in Multimedia Computing
- Minor in Computer Science
- Minor in Data Science

How does taking graduate courses as an undergraduate affect my tuition rate?
Undergraduate students will be charged at the undergraduate rate until they reach 120 credits. When the student completes 120 credits, the student will be charged the grad rate from that point on.
I’m not sure if I want to enroll in the masters program yet, but I would like to enroll in graduate courses as an undergraduate student. Can I do that?
Outstanding undergraduate students with at least 3.0 GPA and completed at least 90 credits are eligible to enroll in graduate courses. Many of these courses could be counted as advanced electives for your undergraduate degree. Please reach out to the graduate advisor for permission to enroll in graduate courses.
