Open the Declare your Major, Minor, or Concentration form.
(sign in using your WebCentral ID)

Read the directions and follow the prompts on the screen to submit your request.

If your major or minor requires department approval, it will be automatically routed to them for review. They may reach out to you for advisement. After the department approves the request, it will be routed to the Office of the Registrar for processing.

Processing Time and Updates to DegreeWorks
After the request has been sent to the Office of the Registrar, please expect for it to be processed within a few business days.

You will receive an email confirmation to your campus email account when the request has been processed. It will take 1-3 business days for DegreeWorks to update.

As you make your plans, please keep in mind the major declaration deadlines on the academic calendar.

If you are an incoming freshman or transfer student, you might need to re-declare your major depending on the major you selected when you applied to Brooklyn College. Without re-declaration, you will not be allowed to graduate with your selected major.

Majors Requiring Department Approval

Majors that fall under the departments below require department approval. Once you submit your request to declare your major in BC WebCentral, the department will be notified and will review the request. If approved, it will be automatically forwarded to the Office of the Registrar for processing.

Minors Requiring Department Approval
