Why should I attend New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation at Brooklyn College is all about helping you get comfortable and ready for your day of classes. It’s designed to introduce you to everything you need to know to be prepared and have a successful start. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Resource Fair: At the Resource Fair, you’ll have the chance to meet representatives from important offices and services that can support you during your time at Brooklyn College. Refreshments will also be available while you visit the tables and get the information you need! 
  • Important College Policies Presentation: After the fair, there will be a presentation that covers important college policies so you know what to expect and how to stay on track with your studies. 
  • Keys to Success Session: This session will provide an overview of everything you need to know to succeed at Brooklyn College. You’ll get info on: 
    • How Academic Advisement works and understanding your degree requirements
    • What to expect during your first semester at BC
    • Connecting early to essential resources
    • A helpful To-Do List to make sure you’re prepared for the semester ahead 
  • Campus Tour: To wrap up the day, you’ll take a tour of the campus to get familiar with important locations like your classrooms, dining spots, the library, and other services.
